"message": "Dear Prime Minister and Ministers responsible for safeguarding nature,\n\nI am writing today to underline how important it is to me that Canada keep its promise to deliver a National Biodiversity Strategy to combat the climate and extinction crises and put nature on the path to recovery.\n\nWe have all seen the unprecedented and imminent danger climate change and biodiversity loss pose to our environment, species and communities alike. This is an emergency that requires immediate action and simply cannot be overlooked any further.\n\nYou have said for years that the environment and the economy go hand in hand. If our ecosystems fail, we lose everything. As Canada’s leaders you have committed to halting and reversing biodiversity loss by 2030 and putting nature on a path to full recovery by 2050.\n\nTo make this goal a reality, Canada needs a comprehensive strategy and action plan, informed by science and Indigenous Peoples, and backed by an all-of-government approach to recovering nature.\n\nCanada is blessed with globally significant ocean, land, and freshwater ecosystems that sustain our communities and our planet. An ambitious and well-designed National Biodiversity Strategy will give us the tools to recover and responsibly safeguard them for future generations.\n\nPlease deliver on this critical promise before it’s too late.\n\nSincerely,\n\n{{name}}"
